Better Facilities in
Mount Crawford, Kuitpo
and Second Valley Forests

We will upgrade South Australia’s popular forest sites – giving you, your family and friends even better places to enjoy walking, bike riding, and camping in our great outdoors.

What we'll do

A re-elected Marshall Liberal Government will upgrade facilities in South Australia’s Forests, revitalising four sites at Mount Crawford Forest, Kuitpo Forest and Second Valley Forest.

Visitor numbers in our Forestry SA sites have more than doubled and we want to transform them into world-class destinations for locals and tourists.

Specifically, we will upgrade:

  • Bennett’s Forest Reserve, Mount Crawford Forest: $900,000 for disability-access toilets, shelters, picnic tables and fire pits, improved bike trail signage, upgraded and expanded boardwalk, carpark upgrade, rainwater tank and a nature play area. This site will also become the home of South Australian-based veteran’s services charity, Heroes on the Homefront.
  • Rockey Creek and Chookarloo, Kuitpo Forest: $400,000 for new toilets, new shelters, extra picnic tables and fire pits, signage and new camp sites.
  • Ingalalla Falls, Second Valley Forest: $250,000 for new toilets, shelters, picnic tables, disability access, improved access, an upgrade to the carpark and a rainwater tank

This is part of our $25 million Opening Our Great Outdoors fund which has been created to grow tourism, create jobs and open new opportunities in South Australia’s regions.

What it means for you
