Just like we promised, we created an experienced, independent transit authority – the SA Public Transport Authority or SAPTA – responsible for delivering more customer-focused services.

We know that a good public transport experience starts before people even get on a train and that’s why we’re also spending almost $100 million to upgrade railway stations right across Adelaide. These upgrades will include safety improvements, new shelters, more seating, painting and landscaping.
We are also extended the Tonsley railway line to Flinders University and Hospital and are delivering a major upgrade of public transport infrastructure including electrifying the Gawler line and building three new park ‘n’ rides in the north east.
