Building a Bypass
at Truro

We are constructing a bypass at Truro as part of a $3 billion investment in regional roads.

What we've done

The Marshall Liberal Government is investing close to $3 billion to build new roads in our regions and improve the maintenance of existing ones.

This includes the construction of a $202 million bypass at Truro in partnership with the Federal Government. This bypass will divert 600 b-double trucks and road trains along the Sturt Highway and out of Truro’s main street, improving safety and amenity for this town and also improving freight efficiency.

We are currently consulting with the local community on the design with the final design expected to be announced in early 2022.

After years of Labor neglect, regional South Australians finally have a government that is creating jobs and improving infrastructure and services in the regions.

This project is part of our record $17.9 billion Building What Matters infrastructure program which is creating thousands of jobs and improving the lives of South Australians.

What it means for you

  • Improving safety and amenity for local residents by getting heavy traffic off the Truro main street
  • Motorists and freight can move more efficiently, boosting regional economies
  • More local jobs
