A re-elected Marshall Liberal Government will commit $25 million for an Opening our Great Outdoors fund to grow tourism and create local jobs by encouraging more visitors from interstate and overseas to discover South Australia.
The fund will require co-contribution from the private sector – unlocking millions more in private investment.
Funding will be available for infrastructure and facilities that enhance nature, farm, or fishing-based opportunities that encourage local and international tourists to travel further and connect with our regions, parks, forests and reservoirs.
We will also make funds available for new, expanded or renovated regional accommodation.
This will build on the job creation that has occurred under our Tourism Industry Development Fund which has unlocked over $80 million worth of new and improved tourism infrastructure across 114 regional tourism projects.
