Hope Valley Reservoir:
Open to the Public

The Marshall Liberal Government has opened up South Australia’s reservoirs, giving people access to Hope Valley Reservoir for the first time in almost 150 years!

What we said we'd do

Open South Australia’s reservoirs to the public.

What we've done

The Marshall Liberal Government is opening up reservoirs across the state – including Hope Valley Reservoir.

Under Labor, reservoirs were locked away behind high fences but now families and friends are enjoying walking, running, cycling, picnicking, an outdoor workout space, nature play area and more at Hope Valley Reservoir.

Opening up reservoirs is part of our government’s record investment in parks, ensuring our environment is protected and people can enjoy our precious open spaces for generations to come.

What we'll do

A re-elected Marshall Liberal Government will invest an additional $1 million at Hope Valley Reservoir to open up more of the reservoir reserve, improve visitor facilities and create more trails.

What it means for you

  • Access to beautiful open spaces that were previously locked away
  • Protecting our environment for you now and for future generations
  • Making South Australia the best place to live, work and raise a family
