Upgrading
Horrocks Highway

We are upgrading Horrocks Highway as part of a $3 billion investment in regional roads.

What we've done

The Marshall Liberal Government is investing close to $3 billion to build new roads in our regions and improve the maintenance of existing ones.

This includes an $82.2 million partnership with the Federal Government to upgrade Horrocks Highway between Wilmington and Gawler - improving safety, connectivity and freight efficiency.

Extending approximately 245 kilometres and passing through the towns of Wilmington, Melrose, Gladstone, Clare, Auburn and Tarlee, this upgrade will benefit hundreds of thousands of people who live in, or travel to, these towns.

Improvements include shoulder sealing, resealing, new overtaking lanes, bridge upgrades and other safety measures.

After years of Labor neglect, regional South Australians finally have a government that is creating jobs and improving infrastructure and services in the regions.

This project is part of our record $17.9 billion Building What Matters infrastructure program which is creating thousands of jobs and improving the lives of South Australians.
