We will transform sites from the Fleurieu, to the Adelaide Hills, to the Eyre Peninsula, into world-class destinations for locals and tourists.

What we'll do

A re-elected Marshall Liberal Government will create a mountain biking precinct at Fox Creek in the Adelaide Hills, a unique kayaking experience at Coffin Bay and start planning for an iconic multi-day walk on the Eyre Peninsula as part of a new, 10-year trails strategy.

The Statewide Trails Strategy 2022-2032 will provide the blueprint to make South Australia a nation-leading trails destination – boosting nature-based tourism and creating local jobs.

The first three projects to be unveiled as part of the strategy include:

  • Fox Creek Bike Park Event Precinct: $5.25 million for South Australia’s first official mountain bike park which will attract national and international events. Our upgrade will include the development of multiple new trails and upgrades to existing trails to a national level; expand visitor facilities and investigate opportunities for camping and eco-accommodation.
  • Coffin Bay National Park Kayak Trail: The first of its kind in SA, this $650,000 project will showcase our unique marine and bird life and will include launching facilities and kayak-only accessible campsites.
  • Multi-day walk for the southern Eyre Peninsula: $250,000 to fund the initial planning stages of a multi-day walk in and around the Lincoln National Park.
