What we'll do

A re-elected Marshall Liberal Government will make the real-time fuel pricing scheme permanent - forcing service stations to report changes to petrol prices to a central database within 30 minutes.

We have already passed legislation to set up the requirements for Real Time Fuel Pricing (RTFP) and this commitment makes RTFP permanent at a time when South Australians need to ensure they’re getting the best possible price at the pump.

Since commencing in March 2021, RTFP has already seen:

  • Adelaide become the capital city with the lowest fuel prices in Australia
  • Price variations across service stations decreased by 50% within the first two months of the trial
  • 84% of those using RTFP reported saving money with an average saving of $28.10 per month

With the average household already $1,092 better off under the Marshall Liberal Government, this is another part of our plan to lower your cost of living.
