Productive Economy

We are reducing regulation, removing red tape and enabling our economy to grow.

What we said we'd do

Set up a South Australian Productivity Commission.

What we've done

The Marshall Liberal Government set up the South Australian Productivity Commission in our first year of government.

The Productivity Commission assists the government in growing our economy by providing advice on how best to reduce red tape and remove other barriers to growth. For example, the Commission is investigating all government regulations that are affecting businesses with a focus on start-up, expansion and entry into interstate or overseas markets.

Regulation and difficulty dealing with government can be a significant barrier for businesses looking to start, grow or set up in South Australia.

That’s why we will continue to work with the Productivity Commission to ensure government is enabling, not hindering, the growth of businesses and our economy.

What it means for you

  • Less regulation and less red tape = more and bigger businesses
  • More and bigger businesses = more local jobs
