The Marshall Liberal Government has developed a ten-year Level Crossing Removal Program to identify, plan and prioritise the removal of crossings across Adelaide.
There are 127 level crossings in Adelaide. Some of these level crossings are closed to road traffic for up to 25% of peak traffic periods, causing delays, frustration and significant safety issues.
And our population is growing.
That’s why we’re getting on the front foot with identifying, prioritising and funding projects in a staged manner through our level crossing removal program.
As a first step under this program, we will fast-track the planning and design of the first five level crossing projects so that they can be funded and constructed as soon as possible.
This project is part of our record $17.9 billion Building What Matters infrastructure program which is creating thousands of jobs and improving the lives of South Australians.
