Open South Australia’s reservoirs to the public.
The Marshall Liberal Government has opened up Myponga, Bundaleer, South Para, Warren, Hope Valley, Little Parra, Mount Bold and Happy Valley Reservoirs.
Under Labor, reservoirs were locked away behind high fences but now more than a quarter of a million people have already enjoyed walking, cycling, picnicking, kayaking and fishing in these picturesque surroundings.
It’s even caused a jobs and business boom for surrounding areas with new cafes and kayak hire businesses opening and existing businesses seeing an increase in customers.
Opening up reservoirs is part of our government’s record investment in national parks, ensuring our precious environment is protected and people are able to enjoy our picturesque open spaces for generations to come.
A re-elected Marshall Liberal Government will invest an additional $12 million into our reservoir reserves to increase access, improve the visitor experience and boost local economies.
Myponga, Mount Bold, Happy Valley, Hope Valley and Beetaloo reservoirs will all benefit from the upgrades with better boardwalks, more opportunities to fish and kayak and better visitor facilities.
