We will transform the River Torrens and the Linear Park Trail with a $27.5 million investment to improve water quality, restore recreational fishing and create a nature trail from the Adelaide Hills to the sea.

What we'll do

A re-elected Marshall Liberal Government will transform the River Torrens and the Linear Park Trail with a $27.5 million investment to improve water quality, restore recreational fishing and create a nature trail from the Adelaide Hills to the sea.

This once-in-a generation upgrade of the River Torrens and Linear Park Trail will make our riverbank area healthier, safer and more enjoyable for families, walkers and cyclists.

We will improve the river’s water quality, addressing pollution, and removing plastic and introduced plant species.

We will also undertake re-wilding projects to restore and protect the river’s eco-system including re-introducing native species like the much-loved platypus and fresh water catfish.

We will aim to have the river health returned and fish stocks increased so that recreational fishing from the banks of the Torrens is possible within the next four years.

In addition to our promise to build a new Entertainment Centre on the Riverbank, a transformed River Torrens and Linear Park Trail will help make our river the centrepiece it should be.
